I've Tried A Calorie-Restriction Diet? Nothing Works!?
For a few weeks I’ve tried a calorie reduction diet of 733 cal/day (intaking 1,200 cal/day, burning about 1,900 Cal/day) And did not lose ANY weight. I was watching what I was eating and getting the required vitamins I’ve needed.
I’ve tried exercising a lot more.. I feel like I’ve tried everything nutritionists say to do. Nothing is working. I might be able to lose the weight by just stopping eating but apparently that is unhealthy. Honestly what am I supposed to do now?
I’m 5’2" and 113 lbs. I want to go down to 105 lbs.
Armani you obviously don’t read. I have been exercising and eating healthy.
I should also mention in the past the only thing that has helped me to lose weight is not eating. I lose weight very fast if I eat considerably less.
Also, I thought the whole calorie intake thing was dependant on how many calories you burn a day, which would make it different for everyone.

Stopping eating wont work, because when you start eating again, you’ll put on all the weigt you lost and more. How long were you doing your calorie restriction thing for? It takes time for your body to get used to the changes, and then you will eventually lose weight. Give it another go and be patient. If you need any help, or have any questions about dieting, feel free to email me because I’m going through the exact same thing
Hope I helped you x x x
You may be hurting your metabolism my cutting too many calories. Your body goes into starvation mode under 1200 calories a day and therefore slows down your metabolism and "holds on" more stubbornly to fat.
I would try the Atkins diet. You eat eggs, meat, cheese and don’t worry too much about the calories, but you cut out sugars and starches and the difference puts your body into lypolisis (a fat burning state) Because your body naturely burns glucose (sugar) when you take those carbs and sugars away your body has to burn fat for energy which takes more work. and your metabolism actually revs up because you are consuming fats so your body doesn’t think it is starving and just pushes it on through your system. (i’ve not totally explained this thoroughly but trying to give you an idea of what is occuring)
I’ve had 4 kids and through cutting sugar and doing some walking/jogging for about 30-40 min per day I have lost about 15lbs in 3 months….. that doesn’t seem like alot but i didn’t have much to lose, and you don’t either. It will probably take you a couple months to get there, but you will, just do it the healthy way so it doesn’t sneek back up on you later… Good luck!
get your thyroid level checked by your doctor you may have hypothyroidism- low thyroid which can cause weight gain and bloating and it is difficult to lose weight unless treated. But not eating it is not the answer.
it depends on what u eat.eat healthy foods.
You need to stick with it. Exercise and eat right. Fad diets are often bad for you and once you stop doing them you’ll gain the weight back. DO NOT STOP EATING. That is asking for trouble and incredibly unhealthy.
Don’t give up because you aren’t seen results; the last few pounds are always the hardest to lose.
Well of course you didn’t lose any weight. Caloric restriction diets actually cause weight gain. They slow down your metabolism, so your body starts to store fat. Everything you eat is turned into pure fat. You haven’t tried ANYTHING nutritionists say to do, a nutritionist would NEVER tell you to go on that kind of diet.
You must never eat less then 1,500 calories a day or it’s considered starvation. Thats what I suggest… 1,500-1,800 calories a day with exercise, then your metabolism will not slow down but you will still burn more then you eat.
Oh, and you don’t need to lose weight, 113 pounds is skinny.
YOU SHOULD WORK OUT AND MAYBE TRY TO EAT HEALTHY
Actually, you don’t have to diet in fact if you want to lose weight, the only diet which clearly worked for me was wu-yi tea, it can be seen in the resource box below, they have a limited number of free trials left, it was featured in Fox News and CNN. I shed thrity pounds, it clearly does produce results!
