Weight Loss Medication

There are a number of new weight loss medications available on the market everyday but these drugs are not intended for Jack/Jill average who need to lose an extra 10 pounds to lose before their wedding.
Prescription weight loss medications are designed for people who are significantly obese or have weight-related medical problems that must be corrected quickly to prevent further complications.

There are certain guidelines to prescribed weight loss medications.
A patient must have a body mass index that is over 30, unless they have other obesity-related health conditions such as heart problems, diabetes, or high blood pressure.
Whether or not a medical condition is obesity-related and grounds for prescribing medication can depend on the doctor, health problems can become severe if left unchecked and prescription weight loss medications may be needed.

The most common weight loss medications work by suppressing the appetite.

The new type of appetite suppressant drugs use a slightly different mechanism to achieve the same result,such as, the popular drug Meridia which inhibits the release of a certain type of brain chemical that is responsible for signaling hunger.
Unfortunately, Meridia is known to increase blood pressure and heart rate, making it unsafe for many people with cardiovascular issues.

Xenical was the first of these lipase inhibitor medications to be approved, hitting the market in 1999. These drugs work by inhibiting the body’s production of lipase, which is a necessary part of the fat absoprtion process.
The side effects of Xenical and it’s drawbacks are cramps, flatulence, diarrhea, and anal leakage being the most common.

Research is always ongoing on new drugs for the commercial markets, so eventually better options for easy weight loss,will at some point arrive.

FAST WEIGHT LOSS . . . the natural way?!?!?

I’m a female, 18 years old, 5,5 1/2" and 132 pounds. I want to drop 4-6 pounds by May 23. My plan is to do cardio for an hour 4 days a week, and weight train for 20 min one day a week. Also, I’ll supplement all drinks for green tea (twice daily) and water. And I’ll have 5-6 small meals a day containing 200-300 calories per meal (most meals containing veggies or fruit).

With this regime is it possible for me to lose 4-6 pounds in time for May 23? If not can you recommend some things I can do please? (No diet pills, crazy fad diets/fasts though) kthx!! :)

      Does my weight loss plan sound good?

      Hey everyone. I am 34 years old and I am overweight. I decided to lose some weight after the new year. I have been walking 3 miles( about 30 mins) 5 times a week, daily stretches and situps, drinking lots of water, eating NO sweets or junk food for 4 months now. I have only lost 26 lbs so far. I was hoping to lose 10lbs a month, but it’s not working out that way.I AM GETTING SO FRUSTRATED AND DISCOURAGED!! Am I doing the right things? Whatelse should I do? Should I have my metabolism or thyroid checked? Or get diet pills? Please any opinions would help! Thanks

      I want to lose weight!!!?

      I want to lose alot of weight as quickly as possible, I am 100% motivated and focused and I am willing to do whatever it takes. What are the best exercises to do? what are the best foods to eat? And what are any other tricks/sugesstions you may have other than taking a weight loss supplement or diet pills (had a bad experience with those before) Thank You

      question for………….EXERCISING!?

      Hi, I am looking to get a flat tummy…..I am 15, and I weigh..maybe 200 pounds. We aren’t rich and don’t have money for diet pills or anything like that, I only want natural exercising…I would just like to know what the best effective exercise is best for quick weight loss. I was also wodnering if Sit ups, and crunches and all those really works…we walk every day and I have a pair of Shape-Ups from Sketchers.
