Fast Weight Loss Using the BMI Calculator

www.thebmicalculator.info The body mass index, or BMI, helps clarify an important distinction between being overweight or being obese. If you weigh too much, you’re obviously overweight. But if you have a very high proportion of body fat, you’re obese. Based on your body mass index, your doctor or other health professional will classify your weight as healthy, overweight, or obese. According to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI), the BMI ‘describes body weight relative to height and is correlated with total body fat content in most adults”. In almost all cases, this means that the BMI will accurately reflect your weight and proportion of body fat as a function of your height and weight when categorizing you as healthy, overweight or obese. Calculating your approximate body mass index is relatively straightforward, although you’ll probably need a calculator just to save time. To get your BMI, multiply your weight in pounds by 703. Next, divide that result by your height in inches. Then divide that result by your height in inches one more time. As an example, let’s say you weigh 180 pounds and are 5 feet 10 inches tall. Multiply 180 by 703 to get 126540. Next, divide this by 70 (70 inches is the same as 5′ 10″) to get 1807.7. Now, divide 1807.7 by 70 one more time. The result — 25.8– is your approximate BMI or body mass index. If you don’t have a calculator handy, you can get the same result using the free interactive BMI calculator at www.nhlbisupport

Healthy detox to kickstart weight loss?

I’ve been working out "hard-core" for about 2 1/2 months now. Doing personal training for over a month, twice a week. Also watching what I eat. Problem is, I haven’t lost 1 pound…not 1! I’ve cut my calorie intake by 200-300 calories a day, along with at least a 1/2 hour of cardio each day.

Anyway…is a detox a good way too kickstart some weight loss? If so, what’s a healthy detox?
I actually work out 5-6 days a week. 2 of those days is personal training.
I’m doing everything right, I know it. I have always eaten healthy. Always. No red-meat, plenty of protein, vegetables/fruit, lots of water. That’s not my problem. I have very good portion control, I just want to kick start my weight loss. I’m sure I’m putting on muscle, I just think maybe my metabolism has slowed and it needs a boost.

if you dont eat meat will that deprive weight loss?

Well i recently did the vegetarian week may 19-25
but i found that it really helps clear my mind and body so i continued to stop eating meat.

I’m also on a diet, i guess, and have been trying to lose some weight. I was wondering if not eating meat would affect weight loss and dieting. I replace my meat with tofu but i only eat tofu like 3-4 times a week.

Going on a FAST for weight loss?

I should probably consult with a doctor about this, but yahoo! answers hardly fails me, so…

I am 18 years old in college and 200 pounds and a guy who is 5’7", just FYI. I have been struggling with my weight for quite some time now. Last semester, I put a lot of hard work into it, and it certainly helped, but not enough. Then, over the holiday break, without good cooking options (long story), I was restricted to fast foods; furthermore, I couldn’t get to a gym. So I lost a lot of my work I had done. I know I need to persevere and work even harder, but I have started thinking about fasting in order to aid me with this process.

I’ve been told that fasting pretty much resets your metabolism, and weight loss becomes much easier to facilitate, especially with changes in appetite. I am seriously considering this sometime in the near future.

              1. Has anyone ever fasted before?
              2. Do you know anyone who’s fasted before?
              3. How long should I fast in order to achieve desired results?
              4. What should I supplement myself with? Obviously lots of water, but what kinds of juice or vitamins?
              5. Should I exercise when I’m fasting?
              6. Basically, how can I go about this in the most healthy and beneficial way?

And if you have any other pearls of wisdom or web links, please share them. Thanks!
Can I still drink green tea? I am addicted to caffeine, and I am unwilling to quit it. I have even quit caffeine before for about 3 months, but you can noticeably tell a difference, and with life the way it is, I need to be alert and energized.
